Chris “Sitan” Li

Chris Li is the Founder and Aviation Journalist at TAN ZONE. Chris founded TAN ZONE in 2023, leading aviation content creation and daily operations to date.
An award-winning photographer and cinematographer, Chris is best known for Urban Frames, an internationally exhibited photography series featuring images captured during his travels and time living in cities around the world. His photographs have received recognition from Vogue magazine and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
A journalist and avgeek, Chris founded TAN ZONE, producing critical aviation analysis grounded in firsthand flight experiences. He oversees end-to-end production, including concept development, scripting, filming, post-production, distribution, and marketing. He also conducts original reporting through firsthand flight experiences and direct access to industry leadership, including executives from Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, Delta, and JetBlue.
Beyond his professional work, Chris is a sophomore at Northwestern University studying communications. Chris has also developed a strong personal track record: he is an avid marathon runner who transitioned from sprinting to long-distance running, and he is an individual investor. At 16, he earned the Young Investment Analyst certification through YIS, and he now manages a portfolio focused on growth-driven equities.
Born in Beijing. Chris received education in multiple cities and continents, including Hong Kong, Singapore, San Jose, Evanston, and New York City.
